Proactively supports the Account and Operations team with commercial print and direct mail printing and mailing technical expertise that creates options and acceptable specifications to meet and exceed client and agency needs.

  Online Shoes - Director of Customer Retention Marketing

Responsibilities: This role is responsible for increasing both sales and profitability across the Onlineshoes.com customer base. This individual will be expected to drive strategies and innovative new Customer Retention campaign plans that will stimulate the growth of the customer file. Key to success will be formulating strategies and solutions that will drive targeted contact channels (e.g. email, direct mail). This role owns the P&L for these two critical demand channels.

This role is responsible for leading the Email, Direct Mail, CRM, Web Analytics and Market research team in the development of a robust customer relationship management strategy, including the development of customer lifecycle contact strategy and supporting analytics and systems. Also directs testing, analyses, modeling, other statistical/non-statistical techniques and reporting to help discover actionable insights to improve customer lifetime value.

This individual will employ advanced data analysis methodologies and measurement science in support of the company’s business strategies, turning data into customer intelligence. This role is responsible for providing leadership in the generation and evaluation of current and future initiatives, and presenting strategies and recommendations to the CMO.

Retention Responsibilities:
Devise and execute email campaign plans including frequency, content/message, offers/promotions, list/segment selection. Forecast and manage to a clear email channel budget for sales and GM$. Optimize the balance of frequency and customer opt in retention.
Devise and execute direct mail marketing campaigns and relevant offers and content for appropriate customer segments. Develop the optimal format, pagination and vendor partnerships and budgets to drive this significant channel. Forecast and manage to a clear DM channel budget for Sales, GM$, Contribution Profit $ and return on ad spend.
Develop segmented retention strategies, identifying customer segment value, creating contact strategies to optimize retention and provide for an engaging marketing experience.
Establish new programs and enhance existing programs through market analysis, research, forecasting and in-depth financial analysis to predict and measure results.
Lead the growth of key customer database metrics including size of active customer file, new customer acquisition, customer retention and lifetime value.
Develop and maintain competitive knowledge, establishing relationships with strategic partners, and facilitate the improvement of processes, and promotional offers.

CRM Program Development:
Develop and launch an engaging and financially sound customer loyalty program.
Develop CRM programs including development of concept, strategy, targeting, execution and ongoing program management that are consistent with CRM goals and objectives
Manage customer analytics across the organization
Continually refine targeting and messaging of programs to increase customer lifetime value
Manage budgets, timetables/deadlines, deliverables
Integrate programs into the overall annual contact strategy and participate in the day-to-day management and execution and adjustments to the contact strategy
Direct activities of agencies (internal & external) and Customer Analytics in the execution of CRM programs. Manage analytics and direct marketing/customer database vendor relationships
Identify data necessary to develop/grow CRM programs

Communications:
Provide on-going campaign and program reporting to relevant stakeholders, recommending changes as appropriate
Provide regular status and update on all programs to CRM team
Present business cases, program strategy and results to senior management on a regular basis

Marketing Analytics and Customer Relationship Systems Management:
Serve as primary contact internally with IT team for vendor supported, or internally developed CRM databases used for insights, research and analytics
Lead systems enhancements and integration efforts for software and application selection, upgrades, and other interfaces with IT and Marketing department stakeholders
Develop and nurture vendors and other external resources to identify opportunities to improve our customer file value and lifetime revenue generating opportunities
Manage marketing and customer relationship systems budget

Requirements:
Minimum 10+ years experience in database, statistical analyses, CRM or other related fields, with proven team leadership experiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or similar quantitative field. MBA or advanced applied degree preferred.
5+ years ecommerce experience
In-depth knowledge of integrated marketing and principles of CRM
Extensive experience performing business analysis
Strong knowledge of marketing or marketing research related concepts (e.g., segmentation)
Experience with marketing-mix modeling, neural and/or other multivariate regression analysis preferred
Experience building LTV and RFM models.
Experience building statistical models
Fluency in PC office software such word and Powerpoint
Expert proficiency with Excel, SAS, SPSS, SQL; experience in SQL-server and MS-Access a plus
Ability to plan, execute, interpret and present results of quantitative analyses is required.
Excellent project planning and prioritization skills
Strong written and communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
Comfortable interfacing with technical and programming personnel
